I will jump in here.

I am Chinese. I didn't know your origin. I didn't care.

But I remember your argument that J-20 has flight control software bug, because you eyeballed from the photo of J-20 on the ground.

I truly believe you should be known for that argument, not your origin.

That's the technical spectrum of his mind-boggling statements. For the political side, he once stated his firm belief that China is still communist. When I pointed out that it's been pretty capitalist for quite a while now, he defended his statement by saying that "well, they still call themselves the communist party!" Yeah, sure, and the United Kingdom is really still a monarchy too....

gambit, I don't care about your origin, and I don't care to reveal it to the ppl here, but I'll say two things. One, nobody will attack you based on your country of origin on here, not without the mods intervening at least. Two, you know your stuff about radars and EM signals in general, but that doesn't prevent you from being a biased ass sometimes. Still, I much prefer you over someone like Mig-29. You at least know your stuff, but Mig-29 just knows how to spew techno-babble, piece together info from wikipedia to sound kind of technical but really has no idea what he's talking about. He's already been banned from defencetalk for spreading technical terms-laced misinformation, and he's been driven out of CDF too, I guess the mods here are a bit more lenient.

before this turns into an off topic political/country troll feast let us get back on topic and focus on the j-10.

Oooh I'd definitely start losing trust of the Al-31 when its flight time starts to edge 300 hours... ;)

But this is a new one for me, I know that it has very short MTBO time, which is one of the things the WS-10 supposedly improves drastically on, but losing thrust? Hmm.

Well, car engines lose power (or get worse fuel economy) when it gets older. So I am not surprised by "losing thrust", but that much?

Forgive my ignorance, but is there anything strange in that? I note that Western F-16's operating from Italy against Libya are returned for maintenance after 300 flight hours.

F-16's F110 has 4000 hours between overhauls. There are smaller maintenance between that, but do not need to take the engine out of the fighter.

AL-31F requires overhaul every 300 hours. Later versions are a little better, like 500 hours etc.

The maintenance you mentioned about F-16's are probably regular checkouts, not overhauls.

So why the English on the patch? Is this a sort of slow transition to all English or something? I don't see the USAF having Spanish on their patches. .
