Hopefully there aren't two unrelated crashes in the same week! Anyways the PLA hasn't released official info on the crash yet. What we know is that a plane definitely crashed and one of the pilots died (two seater?). Some people are suggesting that it may be a J-10 or a Su-27/Su-30/J-11.

师长的骨灰26日早晨已经回到佛山，原本就阴沉的天空突然下起了伤心的雨，风儿也在惋惜，老天也在哭泣......

云里来，雾里去。谢凤良在万里云天搏击风雨，家人难免牵肠挂肚。这是他与母亲的对话——

“儿子，当飞行员危险，咱不能不飞了吗？”

“娘啊，您有4个儿子，战友里还有不少独子，人家都在飞！”

这是他与儿子的对话——

“爸爸，打仗你要是‘那个’了怎么办？”

“打下敌机，爸爸没‘那个’，肯定是英雄；要是‘那个’了，更是英雄。无论如何，你都是英雄的儿子！”

PLAAF Div 9 lost another J10 due to engine failure near Dao County, Hunan Province on April 22nd. Division commander Sr. Col. Xie Fengliang died during the crash.

His funeral was attended by members of the CMC and air force command

PLAAF is still producing J10As?! J10Bs are still not ready for production?

J-10B won't be in mass production until Ws-10A is ready.

But according to sources (I have posted these source in the WS-10 thread), that the WS-10A was ready for batch production on Jan 2010.

Testing isn't something that happens at the snap of a finger. Neither is making all the tools necessary for a full production run en masse.

By ready I mean mass production of Ws-10a engine and drastic reduction in Russian engine imports. It will still take time to see just how well the ws-10a peforms. It is also possible that the Ws-10a is already mature but the PLA is just playing the usual game and keeping us frustrated .

But according to sources (I have posted these source in the WS-10 thread), that the WS-10A was ready for batch production on Jan 2010.

You still have to consider many J-11B waiting for FWS-10 and old J-11A waiting for their engines to be replaced.

Mass and batch production doesn't meant it can easily chunk out 500 engines per year.
