Do you really think the Brits have something to do with this?
It doesn't make sense to participate on home ground when they could just simply not host them at all. Hamas leadership has had residence in Qatar for many years, (strangely) very close to the largest American base (al-Udeid) in the region. Qatar has shown to be a neutral ground for negotiations, previously holding dozens of such meetings between Taliban and US, spanning over a decade.
I wouldn't be surprised if CIA acted without notifying Trump.
Just like in Ukraine, they enable the shitshows and they have already caused enough damage in the world for the last 400 years or so to be allowed to continue in any capacity.
I mean, this has Trump's fingerprints all over of it of attacking and killing people while pretending to negotiate, though.
So another day another red line. I'm yet to see any serious consequences for Israel. if Israeli Intel is good enough to knock off senior Hamas leadership, I wonder how the organisation will continue to be led.
Part of Hamas leadership has been living in Qatar for a long time, it is known and nothing, new though. There was a similar escandal when Mossad spooks shot some guy in a hotel in Dubai, what has changed is that they don't care about killing unrelated people or plausible deniability.
Also, today Netayahu's trial was set to restart so this will cause another diplomatic crisis that will postpone it
