You'd be amazed how many people from the USA and even liberals from the outside think that unironically.

For some people, the US military has infinite strength and it is the solution to everything illiberal (BTW they are very inconsistent in deciding what is liberal)

In reality the US is currently running a 5% interest rate and 30% budget deficit. It is paying more debt interest than it is spending on the military and is unable to keep up with PLA's expansion. I am 100% certain Washington DC is not happy with what's happening in Israel. They were bragging about the stability in the Middle East just 10 days ago. It is certain what their desires are.

U.S. Weighs Deploying Second Aircraft Carrier Group​

The U.S. may deploy a second aircraft carrier near Israel, U.S. defense officials said, an escalation of the U.S. military effort to deter regional powers from joining the war between Hamas and Israel.

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and its accompanying ships were scheduled months ago to sail this week for the Middle East. They are expected to reach the Middle East in roughly two weeks, defense officials said.

The USS Gerald R. Ford and its accompanying ships, some of which have nuclear capabilities, are expected to arrive later on Tuesday, defense officials said. The Pentagon is considering, but hasn't formally decided, whether the Eisenhower would relieve the Ford or both groups would remain, defense officials said.

Based on what google says, that is 8.11% of their population.

A deterrent and show of force. At the moment, Israel doesn't need the US military direct involvement as long as things don't escalate. Two US ACs should deter Israel's foes from entering the war or in the worst case scenario come to the rescue of Israel.

Hmm. They don't need this many just to deal with Gaza. Maybe they're thinking of going after Hezbollah as well, even if Hez don't enter the conflict of their own volition.
