If Israel decides to do a major counter strike they will just be sealing their own economic doom. Because next time Iran won't be striking military facilities. They will strike the Israeli manufacturing infrastructure and energy grid.
Iran isn't like Saddam's Iraq which only had a couple dozen highly inaccurate modified Scud missiles even capable of striking Israel. Most of their cruise and ballistic missile arsenal was specifically designed to have enough range to hit Israel if required. They can launch hundreds of such missiles. And they have modern guidance.
