I don't get it...why were the "rescuers" not able to be shot, too -- ran out of ammo??
Looks like a bad angle to shoot from. The guys that were shot were rescued from a bit further up from where the rescuers are only half visible, and there is that blue thing in the middle, as somebody pointed out, with bullet holes visible on it.

And why no infantry screening for the tanks??? Simply missed because of great cover and concealment?
The million dollar question.

My guess is that due to very urbanized nature of the battlefield, infantry do not feel safe on foot. The armored vehicles atleast have a good chance of preventing death if fired at, even if the vehicle gets damaged.
Better question IMO is did those that fired the RPG at the tanks survived at all afterward?
I think they run into tunnels. In destroyed buildings with rubble all around, it's probably very difficult for IDF to chase the shooters and locate the tunnel openings.

Hamas, in 2021, claimed to have more than 500km of tunnels in Gaza alone. For reference, Gaza itself is ~350sqkm.

Ariel Bernstein, a former Israeli soldier who fought in that war, described urban combat in northern Gaza as a mix of “ambushes, traps, hideouts, snipers.”

He recalled the tunnels as having a disorienting, surreal effect, creating blind spots as Hamas gunmen popped up out of nowhere to attack.

“It was like I was fighting ghosts,” he said. “You don’t see them.”

Interestingly, this hit & run tactic was used extensively by Taliban against NATO, in Afghanistan. NATO soldiers complained in interviews that this tactic caused severe psychological issues among the troops, even the ones in armored vehicles. Something of fear and paranoia that made decision-making difficult.

Btw, could a PG-7R Tandem Shaped charge for RPG-7 could penetrate a Merkava 4? At the rear is certain, but both side and front, i doubt it
The Merkava 4 has some weak spots: the rear hatch, the front panel behind which is the driver, the angled space between the hull and main body, some specific armor tiles on the side, and the gears.

Majority of the hits are probably just temporarily disabling the tanks (a few hours of repairs maybe), but I've seen some footage of the tanks turning into massive infernos.

There are also some footage of Hamas employing the Konkur ATGM.

1) Good 'snipers' (no, Hamas for all its impressiveness does not have true snipers...those are hard to make but we can use this term for now for the sake of simplicity) sometimes know not to engage too often because their task is to waste the enemy's time/slow them down just enough for someone else on the other side of...wherever to accomplish something else.

Don't know the authenticity of this, but if true, al-Qassam must have some formidable intel capability in use.

There are hundreds of Arab Muslim volunteers (Israeli citizens) who joined IDF. Maybe they provide Intel to Palestine.

This, however, might be the biggest source, and also a reason for poor performance of IDF in the current war,

How mass army refusal is forcing Israelis to rethink their red lines

I'm guessing low morale. Reservists thrown into war while they were refusing to serve and protesting.

Poor performance of IDF shouldn't really surprise anyone that has heavily followed and kept up with IDF.

Like their incredible poor performance in 2006 in Lebanon, as well as the various factors that simply just 'works' against them (ground army getting priotized less, military reforms that has been carried out pretty badly, pay, equipment etc.).

Again, for people who knows chinese or have some good translator.

Extremely brutal footage of engagements published by Hamas today. Still seen are tandem charge rpg warhead being used against mainly infantry, as well as accurate AR fire against a squad of Israeli soldiers being shot in the back.

The Russians could learn from Hamas on producing battle footages.

Two reasons: the armor and infantry battalions were separate and are poorly trained.
Also from the Israeli news, IDF captains will shoot at all targets they think are HAMAS, including "HAMAS" in IDF uniforms.

featuring a group of children promising to "annihilate everyone" in Gaza.

The video, entitled Friendship Song 2023, was posted by Kan News on 19 November and features nationalistic lyrics co-written by campaigner Ofer Rosenbaum.

The lyrics reference the ongoing Israeli assault in the Gaza Strip and talk of the Israeli army crossing into the besieged enclave to "annihilate the swastika-bearers".

"In another year there will be nothing there. And we will safely return to our homes," the children sing. "Within a year we will annihilate everyone. And then we will return to plow our fields."

Following accusations that the song was advocating "genocide", the video was removed from Kan's

Not surprising, Houthi have been able to refurbished some of their hardware recently few months ago, even able to operate an F-5 recently

Iran builds F5 copies and has maintained the ones purchased from America for decades. The F5 is the ideal aircraft to repair with Iranian help.
