Is the Aircraft Carrier as a Capital Ship already obsolete?

It seems to me that the USN carriers are still the USA's weapon of choice whenever tensions escalate. As such I think the carriers are still entitled to be considered capital ships and are a long way from being obsolete.
battleships were US choice on the eve of their entry into WWII, see what happened at pearl harbour?

BB decline only because there are more effective means of attack (aircraft carriers). imo, the carrier could only be considered obsolete when there are more effective means of attack. missiles are the trend in fashion, but have they reach the level of maturity as carrierborne torpedo bombers in WWII?

A carrier and its associated ships and air wing can do one thing that a missile can't do: defend and protect an area and deny it to the enemy. A big bubble around the carrier can be projected to attack and force out enemies within the bubble, and attack enemies beyond the bubble.
