And I thought the UK said that it wasn't a trade. You basically told them to no link the two so they're helping you look credible, see? Yeah, sure, they can hold onto it as long as you held onto their ship, why not? The UK illegally delayed Iranian business so Iran should delay UK business by as much. Pettiness was stealing Iran's ship in the first place; this is fairness. To teach the UK a lesson that it is no longer the colonial power with the might to bully anyone, Iran had to be tough but fair, marks of a great teacher. I'm sure you'll get your boat back in the endSo the Iranian tanker gets released after the Gibraltarian authorities decide there's no further reason for holding it. Yet Iran is still holding on to the UK-flagged tanker for being in violation of "stuff".
I thought the whole point was that the UK-flagged ship was held only as a bargaining-chip. So what to make from this? Does Iran need to delay the ship's release to save face and avoid acknowledging it seized the tanker for petty reasons?
The lack of news about the release of UK ship by Iran can means two things:
1. Iran hasn't released the ship
2. Iran released the ship, but no one communicate it in the news, due to propaganda reasons.
Now it is headed for Turkey or Syria, but also they announced someone purchased it... I think maybe Russian...Refer to this post:

Basically, Iran had stated prior that the Grace 1 was not headed to Syria, then Britain continued to hold the ship for unspecified reasons. That was when Iran captured Stena Imperio. Now the British release Grace 1. Interestingly, and comically, the UK adamantly says that the 2 issues are separate and it's not a trade. I guess that means Iran has no reason to release Stena then... but being good-willed and having taught the UK a lesson, the Iranians might. The take-way point is that the UK now knows there are consequences to pirating ships and won't likely be a re-offender on that for a while.
Moradi just underwent surgery for his shoulder last week so he will not be competing in the next month's World Championships; Kianoush Rostami will likely lift in his stead. Hope Moradi recovers quickly so he and Tian Tao (and possibly even Ilyin) can have a beautiful 96kg battle in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Now it is headed for Turkey or Syria, but also they announced someone purchased it... PS. Congrats to Tian Tao for his 231kg WR, but Moradi will get his record back in time
I know about his injury, I meant in 2020. I also saw his instagram post from the time, after the 2018 world championship I think.Moradi just underwent surgery for his shoulder last week so he will not be competing in the next month's World Championships; Kianoush Rostami will likely lift in his stead. In this picture on Tian Tao's instagram, he said Moradi is his idol.
Yes, unfortunately, I have to agree with you that when Moradi is in form, Tian Tao is very unlikely to beat him, but the new weight classes were very beneficial to Moradi and very damaging to Tian Tao. Moradi was a natural 94 so the 96 class just did him a favor while Tian Tao already rose from 77 to 85 to protect his elbow injury so most people thought he would forget about the Olympics and just be unbeatable in the 89 cat World's. I thought his Olympic career was dead, killed by the restructuring. But Tian Tao ate and ate and had a lot of trouble and eventually grew to 96kg! When he competed as a 96 last year, he was only 93.XX. Even then, I thought he could grow fat but his lifts would not increase by too much. If he could do 180+223, that would be a huge achievement already; I thought it was impossible for him to challenge Moradi, who could easily do 185+230 as a 94. But Tian Tao amazed me and everyone with his progress with his 181+226 and even 236 close attempt in the very first year of growth! We'll see what he can do in the future but I'm already shocked at his progress today. Despite him not being the best Chinese lifter, his competitions excite me the most!I know about his injury, I meant in 2020. I don't think Ilya can compete against Moradi or Tao these days. Moradi is a strong favourite to beat Tao as well when he is fit in my opinion (superior snatch and usually more consistent in the c&j), however I have been very impressed with Tao's progress. If you compare his progress since moving to 96kg vs Rostami it is crazy to think Rostami beat Tao at 85kg before. I think and hope that Tao will win in the world championships soon, he deserves a gold medal.
The impressive thing is that Tao is not even the most talented Chinese weightlifter; China has strength in many weight classes and dominates mostly. Very impressive!
Best
