Max Blumenthal talks about how the IAEA were passing personal information to Israel about Iran's top nuclear scientists. I guess that is how they were targeted. At this point, I think it is safe to say that the IAEA is a Western intelligence/sabotage agency.

Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13. The Israeli Air Force launched missile strikes, as part of Operation Lion Rising, on dozens of military targets in Tehran related to Iran's nuclear program. The strikes targeted the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, presumably destroying the nuclear reactor there. Some media reported an increase in radiation levels in the area. The strikes targeted ammunition depots and ballistic missile launchers. Iranian oil refineries in the cities of Tabriz and Kermanshah were also attacked. Residential areas of Iranian nuclear physicists were attacked, killing between 3 and 6 people. The strike also killed Iranian IRGC commander Hossein Salami and Iranian Chief of General Staff Mohammad Bagheri. Before the attack, the Israeli Mossad carried out a series of sabotage operations in Iran, disabling some radars and air defense systems. Iran has already scrambled MiG-29 fighters from Tehran's Mehrabad air base. The Israeli army ordered the call-up of thousands of reservists after the operation began. The situation is all the time

They have to make it work with what they have. With laser guidance, they can aim successive penetrators at the same spot and dig their way through. Assuming the US gave them the heavy bunker buster munitions.

Iran launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel, primarily on Tel Aviv. According to Iran, the operation was called "True Promise 3". There were 3 waves of missile strikes, which actually overloaded the Israeli air defense system. Daytime footage, this is the fourth wave of missile attacks. To repel the attack, Israel used the Iron Dome air defense system, which is not designed to intercept ballistic missiles, but was able to intercept some of the missiles. Iran used between 100 and 300 missiles, the type of missiles is still unknown. According to Israeli media, which was confirmed by American media, the missile strike hit the Israel Defense Forces command post in Tel Aviv, the Defense Ministry building, and the government complex in Kirya, where the IDF's secure command center is located. One missile hit the Tel Aviv nuclear research center. Other sites in Israel were also attacked. Following the Iranian attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to Iranians, calling on them to rise up against the Iranian government.

Israeli aviation showed footage of the destruction of the Iranian Tor-M1 air defense system, presumably by the Israeli Delilah-AL cruise missile. The Tor-M1 air defense system is produced in Russia. Judging by the video, the Tor-M1 air defense system was inactive or was abandoned by the crew. It is worth noting that the work of the Iranian air defense system is currently disorganized. The Delilah missile was adopted by Israel in the mid-1980s, the missile has a range of up to 250 km, when launched from a low altitude, the mass of the warhead is up to 30 kg.

Iran was once one of the most developed countries in Asia, only behind Japan, Israel and the Soviet Union. But they took development for granted. The revolution was all about ideology and religion. The Shah was disregarding traditional culture and religion. Sure, the economy wasn't perfect, but it was developing quickly. People didn't like the Shah's secret police and repression of political and religious enemies.

Iranian modern history is another lesson in not letting the mob rule the nation. Democracy kills development
Iran actually had a functioning democracy before the Shah. They elected nationalists that focused on economic development and enjoyed overwhelming domestic support. Unfortunately, part of their economic plan involved nationalization of the oil industry. The CIA didn't take too kindly to that, and that's how the Shah ended up taking power.
