it looks like Iran has done a great job in downing this drone, a very good achievment, itss been flashed all over the worlds media and no doubt will end up helping China

just like the Blackhawk in the Osama raid and the 1998 capture of US Tomahawks missles over Afghanistan

judging from the video,it look look like mechanical failure, rather than being shoot down as original claim by the iranian. talk about luck.
but China may already mature enough to understand stealth concept and design.even if the iranian hand drone to china little can be learn.

Drones are only useful against enemies with no air defense because they cannot evade missiles. Is it only the stealth coating and shaping that guarantees their safety? Iran has a large and advanced defense industry, plus S-300s. I understand expensive and limited S-300s would be wasted on a target like this, but I know Iran has copied the S-300 among other SAMs. You don't need an advanced SAM to shoot this down once Iran locates with this radar because it is so slow, right?

The Iranians just became a joke when they showed that yellow model of the downed UAV.

I don't think it's yellow. I've heard it described as white. It's either bad video color or the surroundings are reflecting yellow.

I know I'm not a good new thread starter but I've been waiting a few days and feel strange enough that nobody mentions about this event.

Iranian authority claims that they shot down a US spy drone, the RQ-170, using cyber weapon. However, the US rejects the claims and said that the drone crashed due to malfunction.

It starts from rumors and now photos are shown on sina.com

Re: Chinese UAV & UCAV development

Just out of curiosity how many of the forum members suspect that the apparently undamaged UAV Iran displayed could have been faked? From what I have read in the news (taken with a grain of salt) it has been around four days since the aircraft was downed. Why did it take so long to place on display? Is it just a “parade float” or the real deal?

If it is real, it will be interesting to see what China and Russia can extract as usable technology.
