Sounds to me a cantonese speaker trying to speak mandarin but ended up sputtering a mix of cantonese and mandarin and some newly invented dialects. :p Hey, the reporter was damn professional. Not even a hint of a smirk on his face. :D

I use to see that all the time, the chinese in NZ came mainly from Southern China and they would converse in a strange mixture of sub dilects with one another and if they werent sure on how to say it it they would write it down. Well at least the uniformity of the written language , gives them an advantage over the Indians.

oh it's the other way around. cao made it tried to sound so natural like he actually knew, but he's totally speaking cantonese..even the grammar and words are totally wrong. and at 0:19, he's saying the equivalent of hk's sperm going up(not really sure what that means, though he's trying to say the economy is getting better)

he said cao piao, which is a cantonese slang, and even then, it pronounced it like "scream ticket"

LOL at least they write it down. at least they acknowledge what they are incapable.

but mr.Cao dosn't have to talks mandarin because the reporter understand listening cantonese.
see the link below, so many problems of mandarin tourist in HK and Macau, of cause some HK and Macau tourist agents are quite bad, but some mainland tourist are some faults.

i dont command a perfect flow of mando, but at least i know enough properly to get by, and thats why this shit is so funny. oh and i know quite a few friends who have similar problems, but like most other hk ppl who have this problem, their bad mandarin is richter 1 compared to this guy, who's like richter 10. louis koo's at richter 9

I live in east vancouver, close to 1st ave T&T.
did you watched HK returned to China ceremony in 1997? new HK government officials inauguration, many officials sworn in, some officials swearing mandarin so bad, people watched this in TV, every body laughing.

the bilateral exchange ceremonies were dramatic and awesome to watch, but didn't watch the inauguaration..i didn't think it would be anything interesting to watch until now u say it, i'll go take a look
