This is interesting. A smart soldier system (with HMD)? The company is one of the private military equipment manufacturers out of Guangzhou, not an Airsoft/cosplay outfit.

It has certainly got the cool factory down, and would look great in a TV series or movie, but as others have already pointed out, this design blocks all peripheral vision on the left side.

It also looks to be a little over-engineered in terms of bulk, and probably weight.

I would have preferred a skeletal main frame, which would not have obscured vision and also cut down on weight a little.

As is, this feels more like a SWAT toy than something the military would seriously consider running.

Still needs a few more years I guess, it obstructs the wearer's FOV on their left side by quite a bit.

I don't see FOV obstruction as that much of a problem. If you notice the hinge mechanism; the HMD can be rotated/folded out of the way until it's needed. Two, it's likely a modular sub-system deployed only when the task calls for it, probably in urban combat scenarios where the wearer has his squat buddies watching his flanks (and back) while he uses the HMD.

That is quite a big box for a single solider!

Do we know what is inside? (helmet? vest? belt? uniforms? boots? backpacks?what else can there be?)
The days of just take your duffle bag to the quartermaster is over, apparently.

As for the content, think back in October the CCTV ran a newsreel about that...it kinda look like a trial-run warehouse, but it's kinda like Amazon's warehouse that workers scanned the QR code on the steamer trunk, the corresponding shelves will light up to indicate what to pickup - uniforms, boots, helmets and stuff...supposedly at full capacity, warehouse with such setup can become the one-stop shop, as each steamer trunk keyed in to each soldier's role and vocation...just look at the padding in one of them, there are potentials for more specialised loadout?
