Given the OP's Weibo feed is full of sarcastic commentary on and funny images of PLAGF/PAP incompetence, it's not unreasonable to even interpret his speculation as yet another sarcastic comment.

Of course, his clarification that this could indeed be for a performance came 25 hours and 15 minutes after he had originally posted the images and 3 hours and 51 minutes after I had shared them here. So don't blame me for not seeing into the future.

This is tiring - if it has to go on, can these back and forths be kept exclusively to DMs.
Sometimes PLAGF promo photos look shit, sometimes they don't, we know this already. I come here for information and posts that add value. If I want to view non stop trollling and flamebaiting I just go to the Indian military forum, the Kashmir conflict forum, or twitter.
I am beyond sick of seeing this bickering polluting public forum space.

i think a lot of this comes from guys getting brainwashed by some of those "tacticool" videos they see and misled into thinking that what infantry should look like. the reality i think may be the opposite. some of the traditional PLA infantry training is actually quite useful compared to what their western counterparts get. For example, PLA infantry training still emphasizes trench/shelter digging. this is a bit of a lost art in many western armies, but it is quite important in the contemporary environment. demolition is taught at a very basic level for the PLA, but in many NATO countries it is considered specialty training.

the issue mentioned here is mostly with how the equipment is worn. I already expressed my opinion on this which is that it is inevitable with new equipment and it will get fixed over time. I know this because I have gone through this myself as a soldier, you get a new piece of equipment, you doing use/wear it right and it SUCKS for you. and that suck is your motivation to play around with it until you figure out what works best, then you pass it on to someone else. all that requires is time, doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out. my guess is people making a big deal out of how you wear equipment have not much army experience to recognize this.

ultimately fanboys of every country is going to claim that they have the best infantry as a part of their pp measuring contest, i mean someone a few posts ago says that PLA infantry needs to get up to singaporean standard lol. you are never really going to prove anything without really going into the weeds.

You're an odd duck and an interesting character. A bit of a sociopath, really. I know your feelings are hurt, but you really should blame yourself instead of lashing out at others. Without the thousands of lame photos you posted, many of us would have never noticed the pattern of ongoing incompetence and training deficiencies of the PAP/PLAGF.

In your patriotic zeal to show foreigners how strong and modern the Chinese military is, you have achieved precisely the opposite. You have lost China a lot of face, and you should be ashamed of your own clumsy incompetence at propaganda (你干干净净把中国人的脸都丢光啦，你还敢认为自己了不起？让我告诉你一下，你实际上是大傻逼。)
