Does anyone know what those little modules (each with 8 holes) are for? Thanks in advance.
Thanks to @QIUSIYU, we now know these are part of a new combat simulation system, although I still don't know what specific function these devices serve. Are they laser receivers maybe? Does anyone know or care to speculate?
Note these ballistic shields might be for practicing purpose not for CTU situations. considering most of the things that IDPA has showcased could be equipment only meant to simulate military equipment.Ballistic shields.
Although I might be wrong, these ballistic shields might be fairly new made by a independent manufacturers but paying attention to the pattern it seems like plastic on the sides.

Ballistic plate developed by Liaoning Yifei Technology. It's made of boron carbide ceramics. Protective area is 800cm2, thickness is ≤23mm, weight is ≤3000g, and surface density is ≤37.5kg per square meter. Can effectively protect against three rounds of 7.62mm armor-piercing incendiary.
