What is the point of wearing FAST helmets if you are not going to wear tactical headsets. You sacrifice some level of protection in order to better integrate comtacs.
I am starting to see more non special forces PLA soldiers wear them. Aesthetically, it does not look good wearing them without headsets.

They do wear them, the problem is the slow distribution of them. It's the reason why we've been seeing so much mix match of gears and weapons over the last 2 years.
These guys are wearing tactical headsets (some are anyway), they just happen to be in-ear ones, our guys have similar, and let me tell you if you've ever experienced wearing over ear cans in hot humid weather, you'd appreciate the change.

Have you worn them all day?
1. It saves battery on your ear pros
2. Two gel pads pressed up on the side of your head in the jungle get pretty hot after a while.
3. You only really wear your Peltors when you are expecting contact.
