First they need to deal with the output efficiency of their shipbuilding industry, especially the state-owned one which awarded the navy's contracts.

Indian carriers are too small, too old, and the staff are very inexperienced in real combat. Even if all three carriers are combined and sent together to waters near Pakistan, the sum of aircraft would still just barely equal that of a Nimitz Carrier. Even for the mighty USN, just one carrier is very vulnerable and insufficient in fighting a small country. On the other end, what do you think would happen to the Indian navy? Pakistan could easily launch 50-80 missiles at those ships within a minute. I don't think the Indian ships would be able to protect itself.
The Indian ASW capability has improved by orders of magnitude since the 70s, and with the new ASW patrol aircraft, they will only get better.anyone operating a carrier is a big value target for any navy, india will have 3, and we cant rely on the fact they will be poorly trained, 2 naval air sqaudrons in the form of the Mig29K is a big headache for any navy
using anti-ship missiles is just one part of the overall solution, Pakistan also has the Harpoon Block II and Exocets, but our Exocets are old, i dont even recall the last time i seen a Naval Mirage carrying a real live exocet we always use dummys, plus we dont have very many of them
Harpoon is good but its expensive, and we have limited numbers
this puts C802 as the frontrunner for anti-ship role
using a combination of C802+JF17+ZDK-03+Submarines is the way to go, a ship cant easily slip any these used in combination
if we had a strong surface force i would say maybe we could use them too, but PN lacks air defence, if we get something like Type 056/054A we could probably engage in a surface warfare but with just 4 F22Ps it will be at a massive disadvantage
having 6 advanced long endurance Yuans will definetly be a strong force multiplier for Pakistan, i hope we can also get medium/heavy lift helos for ASW, like Z15 and AC313, to replace our Seakings and Alouttes
I agree Jeff i hope it doesnt to come that either but the reality tells a much different story
Tell me why pakistan spend even penny on its defence when you can't protect your civilian. Since, any Drone can enter your airspace and can kill anyone they want.India has 700 million people without access to water and sanitation,
yet the military has almost un-capped budget for whatever they want, if they want it they get, they are spending money like no tommorow
why does india need 3 aircraft carriers?
UN has reported that the highest concentration of troops in a foreign land is in Kashmir, where 700,000 Indian troops are entrenched
point is, this is a volitile region where a single incident can lead to war, like when India shot down a unarmed routine Atlantqie flight in 1999
india has border disputes with all its neighbours, they dont get along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan, they dont get along with China
I hope war doesnt happen cus it only takes countrys back decades, in terms of the economy but unfort i also know it is inevitable
indian ASW has got better since 1970s but Pakistans submarines have also got better is well, they can dive deeper, faster and stay submerged for longer

The Atlantique flight was a combat plane of the Pakistani Air Force, that intruded deep into Indian territory even after being warned. It went to its own fate.point is, this is a volitile region where a single incident can lead to war, like when India shot down a unarmed routine Atlantqie flight in 1999
Incorrect. India has the largest border disputes with China and even then, both nations are only increasing their trade year after year. Quite unlike a belligerent Pakistan.india has border disputes with all its neighbours, they dont get along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan, they dont get along with China
That's a very kiddish comment.Pakistan could easily launch 50-80 missiles at those ships within a minute. I don't think the Indian ships would be able to protect itself.
Now that's a myth fed to you guys on Pakistani fora. The Vikrant was at Andaman Islands actually. The PNS Ghazi was lured to Vishakhapatnam by feeding false intelligence to PN. It sank there.if India fears one thing that is Pakistans sub-surface fleet, it was Pakistan navy that used submarines for the first after WWII to sink a surface ship, PNS Hangor sunk INS Khukri and damaged INS Kirpan of 14th Squadron killing all 192 sailors, and PNS Ghazi kept the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikrant locked in Bay of Bengal for the duration of the war in 1971
Then why do you think we have a nuclear-powered Nerpa sub inducted a few weeks ago for ? Or for that matter, the Arihant submarine ? Before Pak Navy can even react, Karachi harbour will be attacked.in such a scenario I think Pakistan Navy should dispatch submarines to hunt for Indian frigates or destroyer, which will be leading any opening attack, but this has to be very early on in the war, i mean in the opending few hours of any conflict
First complete the inquiry on why your JF-17 crashed in the mountains. Has it even undergone sea-level trials ? The Naval-LCA is ready to fly soon and shall decimate your surface and sub fleet. Even the air-force version of LCA has undergone numerous sea-trials.follow this up with a wave on wave of JF17 equipped with anti-ship missiles, if one even comes close to a carrier Indian navy will not venture close to Pakistans shores, this has to be well co-ordinated using possible divertion attack first
Feed your impoverished populace first, and then dream of 12 submarines.or PN we need the 3 Agostas 90Bs + 3 mini-subs + 6 new submarines = 12 in total, submarines are the silent hunters and used properly can alter the tatics of a entire battle group
