Sure LCH can serve as Scout. But Rudra (with weapons) cannot be used for transport because there will be
no space - the bay will be filled with ammo boxes & other stuff.

The green cylinder is the on board oxygen supply for the passengers, the three boxes in green seems like the passenger breather console.

even with those equipment you can get an easy access to the cabin, the picture taken is tricky and can be misleading

The interior of Rudra (ALH-WSI) is quite different from Dhruv. That said, there would also be payload restrictions
once all the weapons are integrated.

I think livefist (a premier Indian military blog as far as I know) explained pretty clearly here what's going on in the LCA program.

below is what he said needs to be accomplished to achieve FOC.

That seems a lot of changes that needs to be done in one year. Not sure if it's achievable based on how fast this program has proceeded. The first 2 points seem to be the most troubling to me. If they've only been able to expand flight envelope to -2 to 6G so far and get to 22 degree AoA after this many years. How do they get to the final clearance level in one year.

LOL livefist is not considered by anyone to be a premier indian militay blog - its extremely low-standard. if u'r looking for the nitty gritty - try

I would personally trust only TRISHUL and Geek At Large (Saurav Jha). Even Bharat Karnad is often bogus, pulling
assumptions out of nowhere and suggesting the impossible.

The pictures are the primary reason for that posting.

Do you have any reason to believe, any evidence whatsoever, that those pictures have been altered or PS'd?

Let's discuss issues, articles and pictures on their merit...not what people's impressions of an overall site that may include them are.

...unless of course the entire site itself is in violation of SD rules.

Naval Today said:
The new generation Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel (NOPV), INS Sumitra, built by Goa Shipyard Limited for the Indian Navy, will be formally commissioned by Admiral Robin K Dhowan PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, Chief of Naval Staff on 4th September 2014 at Chennai.

The state-of-the-art warship will join Eastern Naval Command at Chennai for nation’s maritime surveillance and coastal security.

INS Sumitra is the Indian Navy’s largest OPV, the fourth in its class and built on in-house design of GSL.

The vessel will help meet the increasing requirements of the Indian Navy for undertaking ocean surveillance and surface warfare operations in order to prevent infiltration and transgression of maritime sovereignty and is suitable for monitoring sea lanes of communication, defence of offshore oil installations and other critical offshore national assets.

In order to reinforce the country’s maritime defence, four NOPVs were contracted to GSL. The first, second and third of the series of 105 meter class of NOPV – INS Saryu, Sunayna and Sumedha were earlier handed over to the Indian Navy.
