More or less fairy tale from desperate fake amrikkan general based upon cold war era lessons.Instead of always mocking india, look at strategic advantage which india has . India is going to create same problem to what Soviet faced after china joined with USA.
India might always pull attention of china to both indian ocean region and it's lager Himalayan border.
USA wants Indian forces to become string in South Asia so that if next border conflict occur then china would have to deploy more troops and resources to it's larger border. Since india economy is also rising and last cold war lasted around 40+ years so if you think in long term then india vs china conflict will significantly cost attention and resources to china.
Pakistan can't counter india because it's economy is in very bad shape and it's dependent on USA for IMF loans and bailout package.
As a "neighbor" of them surrounded by 3 sides, i am more than aware of their "capabilities". There are several factors-
1. In any case of conflict, indians forces itself will have to be divided into two, nuclear adversary on both sides, both of them having substantial military industrial bases. Means prolonged conflict.
2. Internal riots based on religion & caste.
3. Pakistan's economic trouble doesn't seem to trouble much their military which is kinda surprising to me, the reason behind it is because they produce some of much needed stuff in house & has their own industrial bases. Of course they can't afford fancy stuffs, but what they have seems to be enough.
4. Geographically most sensitive one - The Chicken's neck, otherwise known as siliguri corridor.
India has to worry about more than one choke point in any conflict, without even mentioning the fact their economy is going down the toilet + almost all of their stuffs are imported which will be troublesome to get fast during conflict.
Our fake amrikkan general is still mentally m--t--b--ing about USSR collapse thinking they engineered it. They didn't. Because same thing is screwing them hard all over the world, specially in MENA , i still can't forget how fast they ran out of Afghanistan.
Oh, by the way, now they want 25 of them instead of 50+...well for interim basis.
