Hyperpower India doing what it does best.
DRDO is having program to develop 1000 core photonic chip .They also had developed 4 core processor way back in 2013.

Well semiconductor needs huge investment. And the Semiconductor industry is till in nacent stage. So no empty talks just Hughes investment and Govermnet support is required. So many programs and projects throughout the decades but yet no competitive Indian semiconductor industry whether it's design or fab. The best Indian offerings use foreign equipment from the 2000s/2010s to fab non-competitive military chips that are a decade behind.
No Indian computer of any renown, nor supercomputer conventional, quantum, or exascale.
No brands and the last Indian smartphone was revealed as a Chinese product with those Indian owners hiding the true identity.
India's equivalent to SMIC? HiSilicon? SMEE? Yangtze Memory? FJIC? CMT? CEC?
Those have all upped their designs to world leading even well exceeding Chinese domestic fab capabilities which are admittedly lacking but still well within 2 digit nm range.
Talking about photonic chips are noting new. Why don't India make big announcements when they've done even a shred of real work beyond brochures and empty claims of project/program initiatives?
Actually done with talking about only a fraction of what's been done. India talks thoroughly about what it plans on doing and make inaccurate untruthful claims about their to be done programs. e.g. claiming AMCA will be the first with fly by light technology in a fighter (untrue and impossible to ascertain) not to mention a future fighter being discussed. Or India developing the "world's first" super low thrust 3D printed rocket engine. Well done there I suppose. Beating the others in an area that is actually totally pointless to use 3D printing for an entire engine. Full of these sorts of empty brags and will do mightiness.

Fly by optics is serious requirement. And I don't speak on behalf of them so can't say about them.Jai Hinds seem to enjoy attacking China's semiconductor industry (among other things lol) despite the gap between China and India currently resembling a chasm. It's time to bring focus to India's paper projects that will deliver xyz in n years while the deluded ones are happily bashing China.
Just like AMCA, indians were bashing China for copying Lockmart with J-31 design only to realise they themselves took 10 years to bring out drawings and models that resemble a copy with delivery of product in who knows how long. Essentially while indians were making fun of chinese, they were at least 2 decades behind on even successfully copying (still yet to be done) the exact same outward design. But the indian amca will have fly by fibreoptics so it's all G.
Jai Hinds don't see they are basically a failing high school kid making fun of a relatively successful phd candidate. Pretty stupid and shameless but most Chinese aren't even aware of Indians and their make belief mightiness. Just like the americans. They didn't even bother to comment on an as yet to even be prototyped copy of their F-35.
With that you will go exactly nowhere.Well semiconductor needs huge investment. And the Semiconductor industry is till in nacent stage. So no empty talks just Hughes investment and Govermnet support is required.
My post was only brief and I knew what happened to the Singaporean Semi conductors industry. And its takes decades toe mature. But well I will again keep my answer brief will talk on this later. With that you will go exactly nowhere.
If that was the case, all Europe, US & China would have owned their own semi conductor supply chain by now.
