But plans to integrate Kaveri with Tejas protype after succesful flight test in Russia do exists, as revealed in interview of Lady DRDO scientist.
Listen from 4:40.
She said they are looking for collaboration to achieve the last mile in terms of technology after which they will fit it into the LCA and carry out trials. Its a very subjective statement. She didn't say it will happen right after the FTB stage is completed. Think about it. Kaveri, even after FTB will be a largely unproven engine. They won't just put it onto a single engine fighter right away.
Well, an engine needs an aircraft.
If they run with the Kaveri indeed, which aircraft are they going to put it on? I thought all the LCA Mark1 deal has been done with GE 404 engines.

In that case, if Kaveri were indeed going to be put into mass production, it has to be for LCA mark 2. But LCA Mark 2 uses GE414 engine.

Yes, Kaveri will be an unproven engine. Why? Because testing an engine is one thing, mass producing them, long term reliability, putting into operational use etc are harder.

If India is collaborating with a country, then rest assured, no Indian engine will be there even by 2030. Ideally, Kaveri should be put into mass production even with flaws and the new problems associated with Mass production must be tackled. That's what any country does. Ultimately, it's a question of courage and confidence

Technically they could retrofit the jets with Kaveri once it is ready, like China did with WS-10 on the J-11B. They may have to modify the inlet and other aspects of the aircraft though.
