Sorry. What relevance has Saab's radar development got to do with the subject of a GaN based AESA radar for the SU-30MKI?

update about uttam aesa radar.

I don't like watching youtube because I don't want to waste my time watching something that upfront I have no idea whether it would be productive and arriving at the same conclusion after watching. If you have a point then make it and reference to the specific point (time stamp) in the video.

As far as I know in terms of program of record, a decision has already been made for the Teja MK-1A to go with the Elta 2052 AESA radar and not Uttam. Considering the first delivery of the MK-1A would not be any earlier than 2024, this decision doesn't project much confidence in a developed indigenous AESA product anytime in the near future.

Hilarious prototype UTTAM AESA is superior to KLJ-7A AESA on JF 17 BLK 3 in every parameter.
Problem plaguing it..... like weight, cooling and specially power and range has been overcome.

it's induction delay now has more to do with IAF insisting it matches or surpass ELTA 2052 FCR... hell it's even surpasses E/M-2052 FCR in terms of tracking targets simultaneously and engage them. E/M- 2052 has better range though as it's a GaN based while UTTAM is GaAs. Scale up UTTAM will go into Tejas MK 2 and AMCA.
they are even purposing a domestic GaN based AESA for SU 30 mki upgradation.... one with superior performance compared to the russian offer. let see what happen.
IMO, the biggest problem with the IAF is perennially chasing rainbow rather focusing on actual product delivery. My view is just adopt the Nike motto;:" just do it".

The backbone of the IAF is the fleet of SU-30MKI which has reached a dead end with AESA radar introduction because the Russians cannot deliver a product.

Whether it is with Elta or Uttam, the project will eventually run into the same problem as with the indigenous EW suite development. The IAF needs Russian cooperation with source code to integrate the radar/EW with the Russian avionic and weapons store system. AFAIK, the Russians are not cooperating.

It is a different proposition when integrating onto the Teja platform because it is an indigenous system where Russian cooperation is not needed. The idea of an AESA radar (non Russian) on a SU-30MKI is wishful thinking. This old story has been circulating for so long that it has lost its efficacy. A new script is needed - something more grounded on tangible facts.

super sukhoi will have our own weapons computer in fact Brahmos integrated sukhoi are already fitted after Russians refused to share source code. This is the proposed local content in upgrade if Russians don't object.

That AMCA looks menacing. Will be better than F-22 and F-35 both combined together I reckon. Totally new approach to stealth design as well. Unlike Chinese who only can copy Lockheed Martin, AMCA looks so unique. Definitely will dominate skies of Asia.

that's the only thing that u said right.

;):p:p:p I know right... anyway it's self apparent the Indians are superior in every way. Right down to the planning for AMCA and execution. We'll see it papadum-inate all da skies when it comes out!

In IAF Mig-21 > J-10, Su-30 > J-11, Su-30MKI > J-16, Tejas > J-20, and AMCA >> F-22. Rafale is almost unnecessary but just to bolster the overwhelming superior firepower and tekmology. Man I'm so glad Indians are so peace loving and brilliant human beings you guys show so much mercy to those Pakistanis and Chinis.

Oh I forgot the 300km+ range of the new IAF air to air missiles and hypersonic space bombs in development and ready to strike China and Pakistan. The best in the world LRSAM and MRSAM will also defend Indian skies from everything from Chinese rockets to God's lightning bolts.
