The engines in question may not have only come from the 13 carrier qualified aircraft. There are over 20 total aircraft that have been delivered.
Either way, I too believe the Hindu has been historically fairly reliable, so it adds credence to the report.
It simply needs to be checked out and then addressed one way or the other and certainly not dismissed out of hand.
the same journalist recently confused the arihant with an SSK,not to mention that he is actually a tourism journalist.
defence journalists like shiv aroor ,who was one of the few guys who were present for the launch of the submarine, rubbished this report, saying that the submarine will refuelled only once in 7 years.
also note that this guy is a tourism jounalist,
and recently has written a lot of anti-indian military articles.
also note that the vikramaditya has been a punching bag for many indian journalists.
one guy called Rahul Singh for Hindustan times, which was said to be a reliable newspaper too,
said that that the vikramaditya had faced embrassing failures on her journey to india,
and that on one of her boilers were damaged.
the navy chief called it a blatant lie
and to prove her fitness, the vikramaditya spend 245 days at sea from her arrival until the end of september 2014, she again left for the sea on on november first week, visited mumbai on dec 3&4 and returned to karwar base on december 5.
then again she left for the sea in mid january 2015,for the tropex exercise which began in february and has now docked at karwar.
