Oh i know, and it doesnt work like that, Dedicated EW/ESM planes =/= EW pods but I am not sure if that community or even iaf knows..? or not in doctrine..?
I guess they know and understand the difference between different niches. The question is, as usual, priorities.
It's just most medium air forces can't really afford dedicated jamming aircraft; Israel, Pakistan and Turkey (iirc Japan too, but that's a special case) are more of exceptions.

"backed by AWACS and EW aircraft"

Fun fact - The IAF operates zero - Yes, I mean ZERO - EW aircrafts to begin with. Meanwhile, the PAF operates at least 3 of them.

This is in addition to the PAF operating more AEW&C aircrafts than the IAF, which is actually more damning when you consider the difference in the number of fighters per AEW&C between both air forces.

When have actual facts on the ground got in the way of bragging by Indian officials?

The same year (2021) that this veteran Indian scientist said this was when China had 55 launches to India's 2.

The Turkish one is based on a bizjet and is still undergoing testing, with deliveries expected to begin by next year.

OTOH, Japan operates the 2nd/3rd(?) largest MPA fleet in the world. They could certainly allocate the resources if they ever decide to induct airborne SOJs.

Oh, I was under impression Turks are already in (they emerged as a sudden jamming power in 2010s, before that it was almost exclusively Ru/Us club). Then, even less.

MPA fleet is their responsibility to the daddy, as well as core national interest/fear (Japan remembers pacific war well).

But yes, Japan does have a force of EC-1s, plus 2 dedicated new EW aircraft in development (both C-2 and P-1 based).

To boost surveillance, Govt taps global firms for high-resolution satellite imagery
The initiation of talks with these satellite imagery providers comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor in May, where it has been inferred that China provided live inputs through satellite support to Pakistan.
India is already working on upgrading its satellite capabilities and has fast-tracked deployment of 52 surveillance satellites under the SBS (Space Based Surveillance)-III programme.

I was somewhat mistaken; we heard four months ago that it was supposed to be inducted by Q2 2025. However, we haven't heard anything since besides Factory Acceptance Tests.

It was originally slated to enter service in 2023, but the Canadians placed an embargo on Turkey and withdrew support for system integration activities on the Global 6000, causing a significant delay.

The system itself is essentially an airborne version of ASELSAN's KORAL.

Now that TAI has gained experience with the Global 6000 platform, it has chosen the aircraft as the testbed for Kaan's MURAD-600A GaN radar.
