Logically, they should have a lot more Meteors than that, but it's not too uncommon for militaries to have far more shallow munitions magazines than you'd think they'd have. For example, Taiwan's main fighter is the F-16, of which they have over 100. The best missile for this plane is the AIM-120, so how many do you think that they would have? The answer is 200. And that's the country that needs long range AAM missiles more badly than just about anyone else in the world. (By the way, Taiwan has around 1000 MICA missiles for its 50 Mirage 2000s! Taiwan is not known for making good arms decisions.)

As for the May 7 battle, I'm certain that India's Rafales were armed with them. Yes, the wreckage evidence only found MICAs, but the PAF claimed that they only targetted fighters that had launch attacks into Pakistan. On that day, Rafales should have been flying two mission: strike missions with SCALPs and Hammers, and CAP; and it's these CAP fighters that would have been armed with Meteors. The latter were never shot at so none of them should have been shot down.

And this brings up the question of why no Meteors were ever fired. The definitive answer to this isn't going to be revealed any time soon, but I think it isn't too hard to conjecture about. The simple explanation is that the Indian fighters simply never detected the Pakistan fighters. Once their own planes started getting knocked down, all the IAF fighters ran for home before trying to find their enemies.

It’s worse than that for Taiwan. A not insignificant number of their AMRAAMs are stored in the U.S.

So about those Kaveri's
He says that kaveri for tejas isnt happening due to thrust issue, they will use it for uav's, the original plan for Tejas/indigenous jet engine for IAF planes is essentially 'closed'

Yeah we dont get much news about pakistan's military acquisitions easily anyway unlike Indian stuff, but blinders is prob the most 'best kept secret', dont even know how many planes they operate, what stuff is what. I guess they took their origins from the CIA seriously.

Probably, did you see all the 'spies' india arrested after the the conflict ended, one of them was naval engineer that provided info about all of india's submarines and things to Pakistan's ISI via honey trapping yep.

Trueeeeeee! But we dont know if this really happened or not, although it would fit the story.
Apparently they hacked /stole classified into from indian defense companies like HAL/DRDO etc

Honestly I rather it be a short conflict where India gets quick slapped down and it stops rather be a longer war that kills people on both sides.

It is hilarious how they trumpet their singular engine project over and over.

It is pretty much a complete failure that they need to dig up time and again to imagine it will work with the next edition of the Tejas (a running failure in itself) and to moan and breastbeat when it doesn't happen so they can imply "it could have" worked if they invested more and was more confident to put it in an aircraft.

No it couldn't have.

The fact is they don't have industrial ability to deliver working engines. Nevermind a turbofan, India never mass produced a domestic turbojet their decades of primitive MiGs or even a rotary engine for a cropduster. Things China had made in industrial quantities since the 1960s.

I think people need to get out of the assumption that just coz China did it, doesn't mean others can do it. People are not the same with different approaches and resources. There's a reason for most part, only east asian countries have broken the middle income barrier to become fully developed while everyone else plateaued.

It's a good hope but reality is much cruler.

How did Indian radars detect a F-35B with Lunesburg lense? Indian IACCS congratulates itself with successful detection.

They did the same saying that their Su-30 managed to detect a J-20. I don't know how the IAF doesn't get how weak this boasting makes them look.

S-400 radar is going to have a field day here, and data will be shared to Russia, and by extension to China.
It won't reveal anything useful. This F-35 has its radar reflectors in place so it's not revealing its combat radar signature.

Their typical nonsense. Not the first time they have bragged about detecting Stealth aircrafts...Their Air Chief claimed they could detect J-20s, without providing any context.Another absurd claim was that China felt so threatened by a single Rafale that it deployed four J-20s just to counter it.

In May 2018, Indian Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa claimed at a press conference that the radars on India's Su-30MKI fighters were "good enough" and could detect a J-20 from "several kilometers away" while answering a question on whether the J-20 posed a threat to India.
