In my humble opinion Wistron deserves it for ripping off the Indian workers.
Sure, I agree, Wistron deserves every bit of it for ripping off workers, doesn’t matter where they are from... China also had its fair share of problems back in the days too.

I just find it funny that India constantly tells others to manufacture there and how they are replacing China while committing these sort of rookie mistakes. We know about this case just because its the high profile one due to scale and that its to do with the iPhone... don’t know how much of this actually happen.

I agree with the Indians when they abolish Foxconn factory mills. You can better put a bullet in your head than work for those slave mills.

Apple is ramping up production like crazy in democratic India.
It’s good for India... but other production have gone to India, with much fanfare, before and ended up pulling out due to tax issues... there is also the issue of parts being from China... Apple is betting on the Indian market as well, which I have to say is a wait and see thing atm... now adding on farmers protests along with the destruction of a factory (caused by employer or not) makes things unstable, thus not good when reliable supply is concerned... the only hope is that the Indian government don’t shot themselves in the foot like they have done in the past.

Honestly India should have had every opportunity to build up its manufacturing base but the Indian government seems to be hellbent on making sure it didn’t happen. Now with RCEP (tho early stages and not the end all be all) we will have to wait and see how SEA make use of it... 20% less tariff on parts and less bureaucracy and instability could very well offset any advantage low cost labour can provide. I mean SEA labour cost isn’t exactly high to begin with, barring the odd exceptions.

Majority of Indians are growth stunted and illiterate (able to write one's name doesn't count as being literate)
