I dont have anything personal against India. What I am criticising is their policies. That they have left their young people poor and their population uneducated for so long doesn't bode well for its future.
Its one thing to have a 50+ year old person in poverty and another to have a young person in poverty. Truth be told, the country requires young people to grow and for the old people it doesn't care a lot
And another point (most important) , is that India's literacy rate in 2019 is 77.2. So a full 1/4(approx.) of the population is a dead weight on the economy. These people want to live an increasingly better life (higher gov costs) however they will only be able to do the most basic jobs.
And lastly, lets not forget the 4th Industrial Revolution train which is coming to crush India dreams to follow China's footsteps to grow. All these low-skilled jobs will be increasingly made in automated factories in the coming decade.
The only point in favour of India is that the US and the EU will want to help it to grow but forget any critical ToT because of the mistake they made with China
