Because it's a zemocracy. It's not rocket science that if India was governed under a communist system then all the accomplishments you cited would not be as prominent. Indians are not that special and or talented compared to anyone else let alone the Chinese.
India had a choice, had they elected a more socialist government, the whole country would had slowly advanced as they did in the past but slowly they go completely Western Democracy US style where the elites get very rich and the majority got left behind. The disparity is just getting worse.

And the elite rich use religion to control the brainwashed masses into believing the system "works" for them as well.

Forget China, can India even catch up to Bangladesh?
GDP per capita of Bangladesh doesn’t match with their per capita consumption of electricity figures it’s much lower than India
See these figures of Per Capita Consumption of Electricity
China - 2,236.73 kg of oil equivalent (2014)
India - 636.57 kg of oil equivalent (2014)
Bangladesh - 229.25 kg of oil equivalent (2014)
I believe that GDP of Bangladesh is exaggerated

That's for 2014, and iirc Bangladesh did have quite a lot gdp per capita back then compared to India.

I don’t remember the exact per capita consumption of electricity in Bangladesh in 2022 but it’s still around half the per capita consumption of electricity in India if you find the latest data on internet then do share it here

Democracy works better once your GDP per capita crosses a certain threshold. Your citizens are educated and mature enough to handle democracy.

@Petrolicious88 bro the reality is different, IF your education is based on wokeness then you will have a Cultural Revolution as virtual signaling and identity cancellation is prefer rather than actual governance. Actually we here in the Philippines with huge income disparity actually had a thriving and functioning democracy. It's the leadership that count and fortunately for us, we have one and you don't.
