Win-Win! Foreign Companies get cheap labor, Vedic economic numbers and easy scapegoats for plausible deniability while India gets FDI and jobs!
And a big loss for highly educated and paid consultants in the West. China should encourage this type of service export too, but maybe AI is the route to go.

You need a large pool of educated workers fluent in English. While China's educated pool is much greater than India's, their English skills are subpar for the most part. High-end services is really India's forté. A very small slice of the population is active but they're good at what they do. Or at least good enough given low wages.

Service sector exports in general is a weakness in East Asia and I think it's partly an issue with language barriers.

Probably for the best. If anything China should be providing its own services to ours not serving foreign masters and spreading their influence at home. Chinese service industry should be projecting outward teaching its language and customs and sharing its technology and systems for others to adopt. It will take time as English is the Lingua Franca but that should be the focus of its Service Industry.

Too much reliance upon servicing foreign companies and receiving foreign investment always leads to divided allegiances due to personal interests and a less independent mindset. While it might seem an attractive option like what India is doing, it is too much of a risk at this time.

Hostility and desperation from West means they will try to exploit this as an opening to put their tendrils inside at the time when they are drowning and liable to drag others under to stay afloat.
