Looking at the map, if these heatwaves get worse then it will make Southern India even more attractive. They already are substantially richer than the so-called "BIMARU" states in the north.

I've noticed that most of the investments of the Apple suppliers have been to southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc. Ideally, you'd want your states to converge over time. This is a problem in the EU. I don't know how things are going in China but at least in India, the richer states are maintaining their lead or even pulling ahead. These climate issues will likely exacerbate these structural trends.

India is hopeless, just look at their population densitya-population-density-map-of-india-v0-zs2knbp7laaa1.png

and compare it to China's:China - population density.png

notice anything strange?..

Their population surplus over China is going to be completely wiped out by high temps from climate change and unaffordability of A/C for most of the population.
Hence the reason the Indian gov. consistently wants to export its mouths with feet to other countries. That way, they don't have to worry about educating, training and providing jobs for these people, and india can secure a 5th column inside that country eg Canada, UK.

a new indian desert at the foot of the Himalayas would be an excellent buffer against indians trying to get into China or even SEAsia.

But hygiene (or lack thereof) isn't the only impediment to India's progress.

GB had a great article to show that the attitude of indians who behave as proper Anglo Sepoys is the biggest impediment to their own development:
