The map is wrong.
For example, Railway between Kangding and Nyingchi won't be ready by at least 2026.

However, the section from Kangding to Nyingchi - the most difficult and the longest section - is still under design. Its construction is expected to begin in 2019 and could take about seven years, according to the China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co Ltd.

I figured your "Nyingchi" = Nyingtri in that map, while "Kangding" = Ganzi in the map (

If you look carefully the line is marked with dash orange meaning still in construction stage and won't be ready until 2020

Yes there will be line from Shigatze to Dromo and further to Bhutan stopping short 50 mile from Thimpu
And another branch line from Shigatze to Yatung on the border with Nepal then connect with the proposed Nepal railway to Kathmandu and,Pokhara, Lumbini

India will be irritated now they are surrounded with railway:D
Worst still 2nd line from Chengdu to Lhasa is now under construction. this is old news
The Chinese government has confirmed plans to accelerate construction of a new railway line to Tibet from Chengdu, running east from Lhasa close to India’s border, and an extension of the railway to the border with Nepal.

The official confirmation of the new route to Chengdu – described by an official as “like the largest rollercoaster in the world” – and to Kyirong on the border with Nepal was announced at the China’s National People’s Congress in Beijing this month and during earlier official meetings in Lhasa.

The new route to Chengdu traverses some of the most culturally significant areas of Tibet, including areas that remain under a crackdown since widespread demonstrations across Tibet in 2008, and across a fragile high-altitude landscape that is warming nearly three times as fast as the rest of the earth.

By 2020 the aim is to complete several other major rail routes connecting Tibet with its neighbouring provinces of Xinjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan (see map). One of them, a 1,900km railway from Lhasa to Chengdu, will cost more than $20 billion.

The line Chengdu - Golmud - Korla will save time on the important route from Chengdu to Duisburg in Germany.

China opens new highway in Tibet close to Arunachal Pradesh border
Updated: Oct 01, 2017, 04.19 PM IST
BEIJING: China today opened a 409-km new expressway costing about $5.8 billion linking Tibet's provincial capital Lhasa with Nyingchi, which is close to Arunachal Pradesh border.
The 409-km toll-free expressway has linked the two major cities which are also tourist attractions in Tibet, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The expressway cuts Lhasa-Nyingchi travel time from eight to five hours at a speed limit of 80 km per hour.

The construction cost 38 billion yuan ($5.8 billion), according to the local government.

Most of the expressways in Tibet are also compatible for military equipment, providing advantage for the Chinese military to move its troops and weaponry faster.
The massive infrastructure development in Tibet also prompted India to ramp up infrastructure on its side.

Heavy trucks are temporarily banned from using the Lhasa- Nyingchi expressway, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The India-China border dispute covers the 3,488 km-long Line of Actual Control (LAC). While China claims Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet, India asserts that the dispute covers the Aksai Chin area, which was occupied by China during the 1962 war.

Conclave of Indian Army Commanders next week to discuss military preparedness
A conclave of Army Commanders next week is set to discuss military preparedness along the China border, amid indications that the Chinese may have beefed up their presence near the Doklam standoff site since the disengagement more than a month ago.

According to sources in the Indian security establishment, the Chinese have 1,500 to 1,700 troops of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) stationed a few hundred metres afrom the standoff site on their side.

New bunkers found

In the locality, Indian surveillance has also detected new bunkers. The sources said road construction stores that were moved to the area during the Doklam standoff also remain in the area, and some road re-laying has been done on the Chinese side not very far from the standoff point.

At least a couple of official sources admitted that they were uncomfortable about the Chinese presence and activities on the plateau. “It is not status quo ante,” an official said. “Ideally, they should withdraw the troops and equipment,” he said.

Defence Ministry officials here claimed that there were only some 300 Chinese soldiers in the area. “There has been no change in the levels (of deployment) since the end of the standoff. Since then, the Chinese troops have only pulled back 300-400 metres,” a senior Army officer said.

The nearest PLA base is at Yatung which has a battalion headquarters with at least 600 soldiers, and is 12-13 km away.

Tanks deployed

Meanwhile, Army sources confirmed that the biannual Army Commanders conference, scheduled to be held from October 9 to 14, would be discussing the Chinese posturing and military preparedness along the border.

The Indian Army has carried out its own readjustments in the India-China-Bhutan trijunction, with forward deployment of T-72 tanks and BrahMos missiles among other equipment.

The two Armies were engaged in a standoff at Doklam near the trijunction since June 16 after Indian soldiers prevented the Chinese from building a road in the disputed territory. After prolonged diplomatic negotiations, the two sides announced disengagement on August 28 ending the 73-day standoff.

Officials said the present posturing by the PLA could be in the context of the crucial Chinese Communist Party Congress scheduled in two weeks. “It is more of a messaging by the PLA for the party. They may pull back after that,” the MoD official said.

“They would not want to wait till winter. It will be difficult to sustain for them,” the official added.
