I don't a JSOW-missile type of thing would work, since it is easily shot down. (Then again, I haven't heard of rockets and cannon shells being intercepted by CIWS, or vice versa....)

We are talking about a crusier, so I don't think space is a problem.

Depends on what your definition of a cruiser is. If you mean traditional cruiser, then maybe, but if it is more of the current line of thinking for cruisers, which are in reality destroyers, different story.
