I doubt that her intelligence is that high though. By running away to Canada and showing her HK support base that she is a opportunist rat shows enough that she won’t be changing her stance any time soon and while she might command loyalty amongst some people, her overall affect will be similar to how another female HK NGO member who fled to Japan and ultimately continued her hatred for China until the day she died starving to death while being disowned by her family and to the taunting of many onlookers who ended up laughing at how she wasted her life away without accomplishing anything to note. Unless Anges shows that she is any different, her life while it might not end the same way, isn’t going to be sunshine and roses either, especially in the choice of nation she ran away to where Canada is literally laughed at on the world stage due to its status as a Nazi supporter thanks to Tedreau’s idiot stunt in parliament last year which hints at a very limited life path given that well, what over experience of note does she have that can contribute to society other then fermenting protest in HK which she is likely never to comeback to cause again given that China has essentially ensured a life long exile for her. This should be an example of not how to live a life no matter who one is but I personally won’t get my hopes up for Ange, she basically used goods who worth is limited in value given that HK isn’t likely to have another riot anytime soon nor is there the will for such a thing

The majority of Hong Kong was pro-China in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s when it was actually under British rule. All you need to see this are the movies from that period. Especially the martial films.


The generation of self-haters we saw burning HK actually grew up post Handover in 1997. They grew up during the prosperity that China provided HK that came with the Chinese entrance into WTO in 2001. China was mainly hands off which was what, unfortunately, actually led to the disdain from these Yellows who thought it was their proximity to white Westerners that gave them this wealth. They didn't live under the British at all.

But the Blues were always in the majority. And yes they were mainly older. The people who lived under UK rule. The only reason why the HK Police were able to crack down on the young miscreants without much bloodshed was the support from the Hong Kong's Blues -- the part of the population that had always saw themselves as Chinese.

People going to Shenzhen and Guangzhou didn't have change of hearts. They are mostly from the group that was always close to China. The difference is now there are far less of the pro-White Yellows around to hinder closer integration with the Greater Bay Area.

Most of the Yellows had already left for England or the West and those that remain would never foot in China. If you understand the divide, Yellows would not even attend Blue businesses in HK never mind go to Shenzhen.

Hong Kong will be okay because the Blues are in ascendent and you have leaders like John Lee actively pushing integretion.

If this is true, and you have the evidence, then I condemn it with my absolute heart. No amount of words that I can say will ever express my contempt for such a disgusting act. Devoid of morals and basic human principle, utter trash and scum, who deserve nothing but imprisonment or death. I myself am unable to reach such sources, as I live in the UK. Therefore it is why I have joined this forum to expand my knowledge and understanding. But I will not do so at the behest of slander from yourself or others.

I dislike Agnes Chow. I absolutely do. She and others such as Joshua Wong are the reason for my cousins undergoing hardships. As much as I dislike the leaders of the rioters, I also dislike spreading rumours. I think it's awful and disgusting. One shouldn't stoop so low so as they are eating shit off the same ground as Agnes and Joshua.

For some reason people forget the Brits ruled HK for 99 years and only remember the 80s/90s part when they were about to leave anyway.

As a majority Chinese ethnic, living in HK before that time wasn't exactly great.

But I think this is a common thing for people to have. Life sucks at the moment. I wish things were better like before. Even though before wasn't as great as they remembered it. Nostalgia really allows very rose tinted glasses.

I think Yellow now and "Yellow" then (this didn't exist in the 80's/90's) were very different things.

1. Even at the height of colonial oppression, never was Independence ever considered (Thanks CIA!).

2. Even in the lead up to the handover (90's), people just left instead of advocating for independence or any such nonsense (Again, I say this suggests an intelligence operation rather than an organic movement).

The equivalent of Yellow back then would be a preference for the British administration or belief in HK superiority. Calls for democracy were quite rare, and only a handful of people cared about such political things.

Naturally people would be more Yellow in the 80's/90's because HK was measurably a better place to live than mainland China in those times. The living standard can basically track the same course as military technology, so mid 00's is when you have a dramatic growth in mainland lifestyle (first 052C DDG in service), and thus a shift in mindset.

Also, consider anecdotally, many people have gone back to HK after living in western countries for 10+ years. Other than ease of access to education, cost of living, and 'fresh air' environment, there a lot of disillusionment with "democracy" (not that it was the main motivation for many). Full of nonsense (i.e. gender stuff), nothing ever gets done, high taxes, too much crime/homelessness (which begs the question, where are these taxes going?)
