And I'm saying that human rights don't exist in practice and therefore, that "right" is nullified. You can only even try to claim the right to contest elections if you have a clean criminal record in most places; if you are a felon or have some other history of multiple arrests and serious crimes, your "human right" to contest elections will be taken away from you by society. Therefore, I'm saying in practice, don't rely on the illusion of having "rights"; rely on goodwill with your society ie. not having a criminal record. It think that's clear what my post means.
Our friend is so typical of the people in the west. Always quick annd point a finger at China on "human rights". At the same time, their own system restrict their people's own human rights!
I mean, criminalty is only one of the ways the west trample on people's human rights. They are others, like the refusal to swear allegiances. Or being "certify insane". Or have no fixed abode, or just don't have the money to pay the deposit required to stand as an MP!
Yet, all this to them is fine when it applies to their own citizens, but when it is applied to Hong Kong. HUMAN RIGHTS gets wheeled out!
Still, can't really blame our friend here, if all he got to go by is his own MSM!
