Jersey City Moves Fireworks To Exchange Place, Thanks To NJ Government Shutdown

The government shutdown that is plaguing New Jersey—
—has now prompted Jersey City to move its July 4th fireworks celebration from a state park.
, "I just made the decision in conjunction with our Police, FIre, OEM + Cultural Affairs that we will move our celebration to Exchange Place. I'm not willing to risk waiting around for the state government to act."

Now that the Jersey City fireworks are at Exchange Place, New Yorkers will be able to see them from Battery Park. (To be fair, New Yorkers in Manhattan and Brooklyn have traditionally been able to glimpse Jersey City's fireworks.)
