Re: H-6 bomber thread

the new H-6 will have a pretty nice new Radar
seems to be in combination
with new weapons like radar guided bombs as I think
and other (new) engines for more power (payload and speed?)

may be the old H 6 is only used to test the new weapons

Re: H-6 bomber thread

Does anyone have an answer to my question on the previous page? Seems like people are ignoring me.

Mao,
There is a better view of the bar in picture no. 3 in post # 112 of this thread. (The bar can't extend back too far as it will cut the engine into half.)

It seems to me now the bars are slightly angled downward, which, if it's really so, seems to run counter to aerodynamics principle. Anyway, this is within the engine's air intake and I am no aerodynamics expert to comment on this.

Sargon,
What is the better way of doing that? As far as we know, to the chinese designers, practicality trumps aesthetics anytime.

First, I'd like to say thank you for answering me. Would it really be that much work to get rid of the antenna? I mean look at the B-52 or Tu-95, they don't have those antenna lines on them. It looks like the bomber came outta WWII or something.

IMO, It would make it look more modern :D

Obviously though that shouldn't be a major concern to the Chinese. I always thought the H-6 was kinda beautiful as bombers come (aside from maybe the Vulcan). I think its the location of the engines that does it for me.

Not to mention, why a rectangular engine bay? The divider looks like a section of a wing.

The bar isn't a continuous part of the structure of the wing as can be seen in picture no. 1 in post #112.

Re: H-6 bomber thread

I know, but the cross section from the angle looks like a wing itself. But isn't putting anything in front of the engine intake a bit ...silly, to do?
