I'd say its for added rigidity just like the separation structure inside the F-16's intake.
btw is H-6k for anti-ship or for the strategic airforce?
To me i think is for anti-ship purpose coz the missile looks like YJ-62 and we have seen YJ-62 been placed on 052C DDG, plus there is no point for having a non-stealth subsonic strategic bomber when ICBM and 094 SSBN are well suited for the job. Therefore i would assume is for anti-ship purpose.
Does anyone have an idea why the air-intake has this huge "plate" in the middle which divides the intake ??

But apart from anti-ship task, H-6 should be in the mid- short range air-to-surface cruise missile platforms, such as the launch of the "Che-hung bird" cruise missiles.In the war in the Taiwan Strait, in addition to ballistic missiles, cruise missiles also need a lot.

as I postet in german "Flugzeugforum" - my first idea was, that they will have two engines instaed of one (@Deino - have a nice New Year)Does anyone have an idea why the air-intake has this huge "plate" in the middle which divides the intake ??

Hard to imagine fitting four engines into those structures. My guess would be, besides strenthening the engine intake section, the bar also serves to reduce radar reflection from the fan blades at least for certain line of sights.

Let us look carefully at the picture,unlike F-16,the H-6 air inlet structure is linked to shell wing aircraft, that is to say, inlet structure also need to bear the intensity of the wings,also,That metal plates and the entire inlet structure is a whole, not for a particular purpose to add things.

Actually, the metal plate only extends about a metre back and,in my opinion, is not critical part of the wing support structure. All said, no harm in strengthening further a support structure especially when it has certain other advantages that we can only now guess.
