Remember last year? Though this time it's from air force it might (or not) be different.
It’s awesome for us to see China develop almost every high-tech military platform that exists in world class military arsenals today, but does China have any real need yet for a strategic bomber anyway?
In the context of Chinese goals and ambitions what would be their potential uses? Threatening American bases in Korea and Japan? All the way to Guam perhaps?
Necessary evilYou guys think these kites can fly 10000km without getting detected by optical satellites?
They have a distinctive shale and large surface area. They have no stealthiness in the visible range. And those satellites will only get better in terms of machine learning and imaging/optics tech.
I would imagine those tracking satellites can keep an eye on them. Especially it they’re flying over a white cloud backdrop.
Just doesn’t seem worth the risk to use against long range targets such as Guam.

You mean this Lunar year, which will end in a month? Maybe China is doing it to stick it to Trump on the way out of officeIMO unlikely ... I would be more than surprised if we will see it this year.
It has happened before:I would imagine those tracking satellites can keep an eye on them.
