Looks like a Harbin Z-9... this one operated by the People's Armed Police of the PRC. You really should not choose pictures from the main SinoDefence.com website... :p

Hey, I try to get more people to participate;) Dongfengs mainsite has proven out to be source of couple of rather good quizzes, if choosen from the field that doesent intrest kids that much.
Guess this wasent the one...your turn:D

I'll throw you guys a hint, since there has been no response for a while; its is the parent of one of the most famous automatic weapons in service during World War II and afterwards.

If no one gets it within 48 hours, I will post the answer. You will be surprised at what weapon traces its lineage to this gun.

I think I've seen this gun some where before. I don't remember what it is but I think that either the US .30 cal from WWII or the Thompson submachine gun or the PPsh are descended from it. I can't say why, it just rings a bell.

I'm probably very wrong.
