I believe many thread members predicted this outcome with the corollary that Russia's industrial advantage would carry them to conquer all of Ukraine, not 18% of it.
No peace has been negotiated yet. It is hard to say what Russia will hold out for before agreeing, but I imagine the repatriation of their frozen assets will be just one small item on a very long list.

Their forex reserves are held in DC and Frankfurt not in Avdiivka.

Doesn't mean they're off the table as a small piece of a negotiated settlement. Russia would certainly want to have them transferred out. And as is said even in mainstream Western media, top US officials believe Russia intends to hold out instead of agreeing to a peace.
I am asking you what leverage you think they have over the US specifically to extract such a massive and politically charged concession.

I get that this is basically kriegspiel and that was a seriously thing but still, somehow this just gives off the feel of a big D&D game.

The financial and military resources intended to keep Ukraine viable are drawn down to about 1/9th of what was allocated in total. There's no way to keep funding the fighting without depleting equipment intended for other priorities (Israel, Taiwan, etc.).

The very current news of the US telling Ukraine to figure out a peace concession that would gain Russian agreement certainly sounds like this shindig is up. So rather than saying this is about Russian leverage over the US, mainstream Western media is even signalling very clearly that US leadership wants this to end.

In that sense, you could say Russia's greatest leverage is simply to keep this war alive and perhaps even signal at ramping up.

I believe many thread members predicted this outcome 2 years ago, while certain other members derided them
I doubt the US will fold this soon. They are already delivering F-16s to Ukraine as we speak.
And after the way the West behaved with the Minsk accords, where they took advantage of the ceasefire to build up the Ukrainian Army and broke the deal, I doubt that Russia would accept a ceasefire or peace terms unless Ukraine agreed to disarm. And this would need inspections.
