STOP hallucinating and projecting that so and so companies are anti-CPC based on nothing but just over-active imagination. Jack MA was reminded and had his wings clipped because he thought he knew how to better regulate fintech and his baby Ant Financial (essentially calling the Chinese regulators dinosaurs and relic of old thinking) to allow it to operate with impunity and free from consequences to the society ergo social stability that any sane Chinese government is keen to maintain, enhance based on its calamitous recent past.
And what's the freaking big deal with that article anyway? Are we actually lead to believe that any western leaning countries and people would say, hey, am going to sign up to my country's military so that I can fight against the commies and finally read the world of the evil See See Pee? Or the governments in South East Asia, especially Japan are going to be that gung-ho to test that theory and infantile idea of going to war with China based on such China is weak militarily by basing their judgment on what SOME OF THE FOLKS AT SCMP write? I mean, holy hell, if that is how a military gather their intelligence on an rival country then please just play dead.
It's sort of SCMP's way of making themselves look "objective" in western eyes. From time to time SCMP reports objectively on China, but since that's not acceptable to the west they add some China-bad takes into their mix too.
SCMP does go the other way too and add some non-objective "China Strong" news too, like that one guy that keeps reading up defence related papers in Chinese and write articles in tones of "China have this revolutionary weapon that's about to change the nature of warfare on the horizon".
SCMP editor probably think they're clever in doing it this way but I think it's pretty dumb and causes both sides to think SCMP is not reliable and objective.
SCMP is trying to have their cake and eat it too. To me they are hanjian that should be shut down. To pro-West they are See See Pee propaganda outlet.
