The Ukraine War should tell you that with satellites and drones, there's no such thing as "operational surprise" on the modern battlefield.

I disagree. China can easily achieve operational surprise in a Taiwan contingency. Mostly thanks to the fact that the entire eastern coast of the mainland being large urban centers. The troops are already in position.
