THANK YOU, my friend!

I had hoped that you or FORBIN or someone would shed some light on this and I appreciate your response and link.

I know now how to answer such claims.

strangest thing was that the claims originated in France,

does anyone think the Russians bribed the French media?

though i still think india should be more careful and tiighten its clauses.

Funny, if you go to the site of the French association of naval industry enterprises

it reads:
MISTRAL Family: A political tool for civilian and military action.:D:D
----------------------------------------
On a related note trade unions are speaking up. What follows is my quick (summary) translation of the Press release by the largest (per the CGT) trade union of French naval workers (linked to the Communist CGT trade union):

COMMUNIQUE - Landerneau November 27, 2014

The CGT des Marins du Grand Ouest trade union says yes to the delivery of the ships. The French government had the opportunity to show the USA that France was a powerful nation able to make decisions on its own but instead has shown weakness to the detriment of the french industry, including futur contracts, thereby, jeopardizing 10's of thousands of jobs.

When France delivers armement to countries which do not respect women's rights, or human rights in general, France looks the other way !!!!!

The French govt. took a decision which will keep away future customers who would be welcomed by the US, UK and others

These ships are not war ships in the sense they are lightly armed, more for self-defence.

What is to become of our naval industry, both civil and military if the 5th world power is incapable of honoring contracts?

etc.

The other major union (CFDT) is pretty silent on the topic.

For the short story, not sure it was already posted but for those of a certain age, they may (or may not) recall the Cherbourg incident of 1969 when Israel unilaterally snatched from the French harbor of Cherbourg the ships France was building under a contract. That was after De Gaulle had imposed an arms embargo on Israel. The Mossad had accomplices, including the Brits when the ships crossed the straits of Gibraltar.

Not to say the Russians could/would do the same :). The Mistral is much bigger, slower and the whole NATO can be (irresponsibly i may add) edgy these days.

Pure Bravo Sierra.

The Mistrals have self defense weaponry it is true...but they are not ships whose offensive weapons are large missiles. a carrier air wing, or a big-bore gun. Their offensive armament is hundreds of soldiers and helicopters and landing craft to bring them to shore. As such, any LHD is meant primarily for offensive amphibios operations to project power onto foreign shores.

These people are just showing their either their ignorance, or their duplicity.

Rafale new hard point number 3 and new variant F3R.

With the new hard point number 3 get now all its hardpoints, 14 for AF version and 13 Navy for carry up to 9 t.
This point usualy hosts a MICA or eventualy a RS-68 rocket launches.

With this new hard point Rafale can carry easily now 6/8 AAM.

New variant F3R, for 2018 it is only a change in software, and will carry 2 Meteor, French AF request, eventually definitely up to 4, Meteor is not only a long range AAM but use a ramjet so at the end of the flight will be faster, get more energy that a AIM-120 or a AA-12 by example and ofc more efficient.

Yes they are. The French also use FN Scars. there mostly for there SF units. the French are suposedly running a replacement program for the FAMAS due to it's age and the fact that the production plant at Saint-Étienne was closed long ago.

France has signed a EUR752 million (USD929 million) contract for a new generation of armoured wheeled combat vehicles, providing a boost to its major Scorpion army modernisation programme.

This first contract covers the development and acquisition (as well as maintenance and training tools) for the two main vehicles of the programme: the 6x6 Véhicule Blindé MultiRole (VBMR) and the 6x6 Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance et de Combat (EBRC).

The contract was announced on 5 December by French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian at the Varces military base. It was also announced that the VBMR will be known as Griffon, with the EBRC to be called Jaguar
