It is on the previous page of this thread.I would have to see that interview. AFAIK no has directly implied J-10 is FC-20 although I my self am betting it is.
ali.auf can you provide me the link?
No because Mikoyan always designates its aircraft with ODD numbers. You can observe this right from MiG-19, MiG-21, 23,25,27 and 29.Logic is of no use. Countries can name/call their aircrafts what ever they want. Look at Russians; they have developed MiG-35 with what ever happened to MiG-34 & the MiG-33 never materialized.
So there is no question of MiG-34. MiG-31 is an upgraded version of MiG-25 and is currently in service with Russian Air Force. MiG-33 is widely speculated to be a canceled project (before Soviet Union disintegrated).
If there is a (stealthy) twin-engine aircraft based on J-10, then it may as well be J-XX, which would be like the future MCA based on the current LCA. However, it is improbable that PAF is already purchasing such an aircraft when it is still in the design stage.ali.uaf said:No if you read the interview again J-10 is named as F-10 for PAF and Chief further said that PAF may also induct FC-20 in near future so that gives you the hint that FC-20 might be the upgraded version of J-10 or might even be a new plan altogether we just have to wait and see.
So we can conclude that FC-20 is infact the J-10, although it maybe of a higher block or an export version. But it is the single-engine J-10.
