Nice to see those C birds flying. I know the DoD has placed all the USAF and USN F-35 assets at Elgin. I'm guessing that the active duty USN F-35C squadrons will be located at NAS Oceana and NAS Lemoore.

More photos..I'm looking forward to the day when we see the F-35C performing sea trails.

Presently the F-35B will be aboard Wasp until the 30th of this month.

The C is a much better lookin airplane, and the poor little B, well les jus say, "not so much". The C also has completed an in-flight refueling with the KC-135, so all the variants have hooked up, and said "fill er up!". Regular or Premium??? brat

Popeye included the following pics in one of his US Military pic posts and I thought these about the F-35 would be good to include here as well:

Tech Sgt. Russ Fontaine, of the 33rd Maintenance Group, maneuvers the guided-bomb-unit-31 into position to be loaded onto an F-35A Lightning II Aug. 27 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. This marked the first time Airmen have loaded weapons onto the new joint strike fighter here. Each step and procedure was analyzed to ensure it was correct or needed to be changed. The weapons load procedures perfected by the MXG Airmen will be taught to maintenance students in the future. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)

Gotta tell you, Master Sgt. Karen Griffin did not look like a woman to me in several of these pics...only in the last one. She looks like she knows how to whip those Jr. personnel in shape.

My Dutch newspaper wrote yesterday that both political parties that form the Dutch government now agree to buy F-35A's, but that the number probably cannot be higher than 35 as the budget is really limited. I don't believe they will really buy fewer instead of increasing the budget but that is said to be the agreement. The original number was 85.
