Do anyone has an idea about the terms of payment? Given Pakistan recently has economic problems, are they sure they can pay for this?

If given they failed to pay for those ships, where will these ships go? to the PLAN?

I heard they recently get a loan from China and paying all the cost of JF-17 through installment. Plus China is loaded at the moment. I don't see China urgely need Pakistan to pay for its military hardware from China at the moment.

Pakistan is consider a strategic partner to China. Economic benefit is not the top agenda for both of their relation.

Right now China is more concerned about having a friendly relationship with Pakistan, rather then increasing its account balance. Pakistan can pay China in other forms such as material goods, minerals, resources, possible docking ports, etc... Most of Russia and China payments where partion of cash and partion of material goods.

Pakistan commissioned their first two F-22 class frigates yesterday.
“The construction of the first two ships has already been completed and they will be delivered to Pakistan Navy in August and December this year after successful completion of ongoing trials,” a navy statement Thursday said.

“Weapons systems to be installed on first ship have been successfully demonstrated at the optimum performances and ranges,” the statement added.

Construction of the third F-22P type frigate is progressing on schedule at the Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai. This ship was launched May 28 and is currently being fitted out.

Construction of the fourth vessel started at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works in March and will be delivered to the Pakistani Navy in April 2013, APP news agency reported.

Apparently at least two more are on the way. Has anyone heard any news about American naval sales to Pakistan? I think the US rarely exports naval technologies whereas it is aggressively exports its planes, missiles, vehicles, and small arms to its allies.

tphang,

Any news regarding the Z-9C?, would Z-9C be transferred individually per ship or Pakistan Navy is going to take delivery with all six.

Geographer,

U.S has approved to transfer one OH Perry Class to Pakistan Navy. The delivery date will late 2010/early 2011 depending on the refurbishment, which will cost Pakistan around $65 million.

I got this from the article:

Induction of F-22P frigates will not only enhance the war fighting potential of Pakistan Navy but will also strengthen the indigenous ship building capability of the country.

Anyone care to explain me how? I have always assumed that the F-22P was built entirely by China.
