Fuel Controller?? that would be my guess, when you drop tank, you burn them off before the mains.
It could also be that they meant "Cross Feed"? aircraft such as C-130s pump fuel from aux tanks into the mains, this requires pumping on schedule, if you mess that up, you may have a glider?? very bad!
A Cessna 310 has tip tanks, which are the "mains", aux fuel is in the baggage compartments aft of the engines in the nacelle, you burn fuel out of the mains, then you feed fuel from the aux tanks to the tips, if one of the mains has less fuel than the other, then you might need to "cross feed" to balance the fuel in the tips in order to keep the aircraft in "trim"!
fuel is very important in "trimming" aircraft, you must maintain weight and balance, if you don't? you can adversely affect flying qualities, and may end up with a problem? if you can't "switch tanks", you can end up with a very dangerous aircraft??
So either "Fuel Controller", or "Cross Feed" would be my guess.
