THIS! is all Donald J. TRUMP! he threw Mr. Boeing a bone, and Mr. Boeing not only fetched the bone, but Mr. TRUMPS "slippers", this is how you get the job done, at a million a pop, this is a grand bargain to maintain a beautiful airplane.

When our six gens come along, we can have a fire sale for our friends, I bet Taiwan would buy more than a few! I haven't had this much fun since Ronnie Raygun brought back the B-1!

F-15 Eagle

The F-15C/D is a twin engine,single seat, supersonic,all-weather,day/night,air superiority fighter. The F-15E is a twin engine,two seat,supersonic dual-role, day/night,all-weather,deep interdiction fighter with multi-role air-to-air capabilities.

Mission: Provides the Air Force with the capability to gain and maintain air supremacy over the battlefield.

FY 2018 Program: Continues the F-15E Radar Modernization Program (RMP), which replaces the legacy radar using existing technology from other aviation platforms and solves parts obsolescence problems to provide improved reliability and performance (increased synthetic aperture radar range and resolution), including air-to-air and air-to-ground modes. Continues the F-15 C/D radar upgrade program, which replaces the mechanically-scanned antenna on F-15C/D aircraft with an active electronically scanned array (AESA). Continues development of the Eagle Passive/Active Warning Survivability System, which is intended to improve F-15E survivability by enhancing the ability to detect, deny, or defeat air and ground threats.

I would add that TRUMP/USN ordered 15- E/F Super Hornets from Boeing at 89 mill a POP, cut 4 F-35Cs, (DUMB!)! so he DID, throw them a bone, but like the Chinese spending 2 Billion on 24 SU-35s the Navy has let their readiness slide and they are Way behind on F-35C purchases, probably because they GOT NO CASH, and they are NOT READY TO FLY AND MAINTAIN the F-35C,,,, and when was the last time the USN flew a Lockheed Martin product off of a carrier, they are all about tradition, they LOVE Grumman Iron Works, and Love Boeing almost as much!

They are living in the past, and trying to jump to pilotless aircraft ahead of the game, won't work, it just won't,,,, but hey, they are slow learners, USAF is all screwed to heck with their stoopid infatuation with Gender Benders/Chickification KRAP,,, so all we got are Marines who are Gung HO on their new bird, Semper Fi!

Fault to sequestration Donald can' t break right now sadly ! very difficult also and much more difficult than you do before " put money at the problem " real world !
Remains + 18 billions for 2017, 3.3 % less than 30 billions have requested for suppl. funds DOD with it you have more F-35C... but 18 billions remains an ammount, a part used for the 14 Super Hornets and USN going for a 308 ships Navy not a 355 still interesting.

Boeing teases the Advanced F-15 (2040C) Eagle concept.

Called 2040C, the upgrade package includes “quad pack” munitions racks designed to double the aircraft’s air-to-air missile payload to 16 and conformal fuel tanks for extended-range flights.
For communications, Boeing is naturally offering “Talon HATE” – the air force’s programme of record for connecting the F-15 with Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor.

In terms of survivability, Boeing’s package includes Raytheon’s APG-63(v)3 active synthetically scanned array (AESA) radar and a long-range infrared search and track (IRST) sensor for “first sight, first shot, first kill” air-to-air combat.

2040C continues delivery of the Eagle Passive/Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) systems – a programme designed to equip the fourth-generation F-15 with the latest electronic warfare capabilities.
