TKMS representatives at MPSO 2015 explained that one of the requirements of the German Navy when designing the 212 was to have "no limitations in dived condition anywhere in the Baltic sea". German Navy Type 212As routinely dive immediately after leaving their Eckernförde base despite the shallow littoral waters which proves that the submarine is adapted to operations in the Baltic sea. In addition, they explained that "our fuel cell technology has already been proven with many customers and NATO navies".

Finnish pilot flying in RIAT 2015. He won "The Solo Jet Aerobatic Trophy".

Very nice, and I didn't realize until the middle of the vid that he was flying an F-18C, the F-18 is a very aerodynamic creature, loves to pull some high alpha, and a few Gs, but even on the flight simulator it is a hoot. Notice his leading edge flaps hard at work as he pull those Gs and puts that wing to work?

(Defensa.com) Monday took place in the Italian airbase Cameri the first flight of a F-35A Lightning II made in Italy jointly AleniaAermacchi and Lockheed Martin. This aircraft, with the name AL-1, was built in the final assembly line and testing (Final Assembly and Check Out or FACO) on the same basis of Cameri. Just as in March became the first F-35 built outside the United States, now it has materialized the first initial flight of a F-35 outside the United States. At 1:05 pm on Monday the plane took flight at the controls of test pilot Bill "Gigs" Gigliotti, landing at 1: 22h.

AleniaAermacchi, the Finmeccanica group is one of the main industrial partners of the US company Lockheed Martin, the prime contractor of the program. The Cameri FACO facilities are owned by the Italian government and operated by AleniaAermacchi associated with Lockheed Martin. These facilities began operating in July 2013 and in March this year he left them the first F-35A has now completed the initial flight and is expected to be delivered to the Aeronautica Militare later this year. In Italy, the F-35A will replace the Panavia Tornado and AMX, while the F-35B will do the same with the AV-8B Harrier.

Cameri the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing for the Aeronautica Militare and the F-35B short takeoff and vertical landing for the Italian Navy will be constructed and is expected the F-35A for the Dutch Air Force join. Cameri is also manufactured complete wing sections for aircraft, having delivered 835 complete sets. The facility, of 40 hectares, includes 22 buildings and 93,000 m2., Eleven assembly stations and five of maintenance, repair and large revisions.

In December last year the US Department of Defense confirmed the places that carry out the maintenance, repair, overhaul and maintenance (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade or MRO & U) among international users of the F-35. Then it was confirmed that Italy and the United Kingdom will be responsible for the tasks of MRO & U in Europe for the airframe from 2018, while similar tasks for engines will be held in Turkey from 2018 and later in Norway and the Netherlands.
