A very interesting picture, from the Aviation Knowledge magazine as free gift posters

According to the editor-in-chief of the magazine, they got some project demonstration models from the AVIC to draw these posters, which can be said to be the most accurate drawings

Some full-scale models may still sleeping in a warehouse somewhere just like Z-7

I recently re-discovered that my master Bai Wei (aka. Rainbowbear) had post the full HD version of his artworks on the J-9/J-10/J-20 line. Link to the original Tieba post:

Great stuff, are there by any chance individual versions of each artwork, especially DF-107, DF-113 etc. etc.? There must be lots of such artwork on chinese internet.

I don't recall master Bai Wei doing any on the DF series, and I've been keeping an eye on his Weibo since 2014. But most of his works are kinda lost due to time, and the fact that he enabled post-hidden feature on Weibo, even I was only able to find the HD version of the following pics on Sinodefence (I forgot to bookmark it... and don't have the time to find that post ATM), cuz the 超级大本营 forum was gone. There are still compressed pics circling around but these forgotten projects really don't get much attention on the Chinese internet as well.

But I have his contact on Second Life where he still makes aircraft mods, I might ask him to recover the posts on Weibo to see what's left. He's also updating a 3D model of the J-19 Snow Owl for me to play with for a bit.

Meanwhile for academic level sources, there are books such as memoirs of the OG engineers & Encyclopaedia of Chinese Aircraft, but those are kinda paywalled and I haven't buy any because I don't need to cite them as if I am still doing my university papers. Master used to work at the AVIC publishing house so I figured that he got the access to info there.

I just checked the table of contents of Encyclopaedia of Chinese Aircraft Vol.3 (PRC military A/C), it covers the DF series.

From "Encyclopaedia of Chinese Aircraft Vol.3" published by Aviation Industry Press. One really can't get more credible than this, authors are a PLAAF general, an ex-Chengdu legendary aviation artist, and a CCTV editor who's also a commissioner at Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

With my MEng Aerospace degree from RMIT and my CATTI certificate I would be qualified to translate, but with how busy things are, I won't be able to just do it for fun...
