Here it is folks, for anyone who is still deluded that the US has the upper hand on his meeting, here is your answer, straight out from Yang.

As I said earlier, the masks are coming off and the US will be revealed as the emperor without clothes.
US don't need "qualification" to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength. They will do it because they can and still have power to do it.

Still emotionally based bluntness. The two side are doing virtue signaling to try to shame each other and discredit in the face of world opinion. CN still no doing very well the war of "virtue signaling".

Wang Yi saying "No way to treat your guests" is a weak thing to say, Antony Blinken could have answer with " We decide how to treat our guests"

True bluntness is US sanction on CN or arms sales to TW or CN beginning the two Canadian trial today. True bluntness put effective and measurable pains on the other. A virtue signaling which is not accompanied by effective actions is useless.

Biden Team is in delusion with the "rules based nonsense". Trump spoke nicely in public but trusted and used the knife. Only effective actions matter.

I don't care what Wang said. What Yang said was as blunt as anyone could say to someone. Here, I was clearly referring to his speech, not any coercive bullying action. One can go on to describe US actions as worse than bluntness, such as satanic. What Yang said was unprecedented by a Chinese politician.
“Let me say here that in front of the Chinese side, the United States does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength,” Yang said.

Yes from all this circus organised from the US, this the most important statement. All the other things are window dressings.

This statement is a message to the world, by saying that the US is not speaking from a position of strength which was already known among some people closely watching geopolitics.

Now this public statement brings it straight to the world and is the same as publically anouncing that the US is not the only game in the town anymore

Should've happened long time back . People forget that Tesla has contracts worth billions with NASA & Pentagon. The US deep state kept them afloat the past 2 decades even when the company failed to earn a single dollar in profit.
This company is probably spying on every Chinese who bought its vehicle.

All this show is pure theatrics by US side. Completely done for domestic audience and for US voters.
Waiting for policy announcements, not this media theater.
Totally, these messages were for the domestic audience.
However the most important was the message from Yang that the US was in no position of strength.

IMO, this probably hurt the US the most, and this message was also directed to the rest of the world that the China of the present is not the China of the past anymore

But such theatre is necessary to show the Democratic sheeps that the current administration is tough, if not tougher on China than Trump was to ensure the domestic policies of Biden don't get stymied by the political opportunists and vultures in the American political establishment.

If that's not an indictment how pathetic American democracy has become then I don't know what is. Basically, it's of the expectation that China must bite it's tongue and placate it's own national interest to assuage the American political leaders of the moment and be used as the punching bag to be consumed by an American public that's more insecure than ever before. How is this fair to any country let alone a country of China's stature and importance is beyond anyone's comprehension let alone mutual respect of positive reciprocity.

The time of China being used as the proverbial punching bags for Democratic countries to excuse their useless and incompetent running of their countries exemplified by the U.S. is over. To continue going with such a facade and theatrics at China's expense is laughably foolish for anyone to continue.
